Official privacy policy for the iOS application Decorate the Tree (also known as Ornament Dash, Bundle ID: com.decoratethetree.app), developed and published by The Smart Elf team.
1. Zero Personal Data Collected
We believe that festive puzzle games should be joyous and entirely private. Decorate the Tree does not require account creation and does not collect personal identity information:
- No Account Registration: You do not need to register, provide an email address, enter your name, or link a social network account to play.
- No Sensitive Permissions: The game never requests access to your iOS Contacts, Camera, Microphone, Photo Library, or device clipboard.
- No Location Tracking: We never request, access, or track your GPS coordinates or physical location.
- Zero Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to data brokers or advertising exchanges.
2. Local Storage on Your Device
Your puzzle level progress, unlocked tree aesthetics, and game preferences are stored exclusively on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults storage. This data includes:
- Level Progression: Current completed stage and high scores.
- 3D Tree Themes: Unlocks for Victorian Vintage, Neon Cyber-Tree, Frosted Blue Spruce, Candy Cane Forest, and Crystal Glass.
- Ornament Codex: Collected holiday baubles, rarities, and collection lore.
- Inventory & Boosters: Fairy Light Beams, Snowglobe Shuffles, and Nutcracker Smashes earned in-game.
- Preferences: Music/SFX audio toggles, haptics, and language settings (English / Spanish).
- VIP Pass Status: An on-device entitlement flag indicating ad-free status.
This data remains on your physical iOS device and is never uploaded to remote external database servers.
3. In-App Purchases & Apple StoreKit Security
Decorate the Tree offers an optional one-time In-App Purchase: the No Ads VIP Pass ($0.99).
- Processed Exclusively by Apple: All payments are processed through Apple StoreKit 2 using your Apple ID account.
- No Developer Financial Access: We never have access to your credit card details, PayPal, bank numbers, or Apple ID passwords.
- Restore Anytime: You can restore your purchase on any iPhone or iPad signed in with your Apple ID by tapping "Restore Purchases" in the app's settings.
4. Advertising & Google AdMob
To keep Decorate the Tree free to play, the game displays holiday sponsor ads and optional Rewarded Video Ads (such as Santa's Second Chance for +5 extra moves) powered by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and Apple's SKAdNetwork.
- Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT): We do not track you across third-party websites or applications. Ads are contextual and non-personalized by default.
- Rewarded Ads are Optional: Watching a rewarded ad to earn extra moves or boosters is always your voluntary choice.
- Ad-Free Option: Players who purchase the $0.99 No Ads VIP Pass enjoy a 100% ad-free experience.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Decorate the Tree is designed for general audiences and families of all ages. We strictly comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe any child has provided personal information to us, please reach out so we can delete it immediately.
6. Data Deletion & Player Control
Because all game state is stored locally on your device, you have complete sovereignty over your data:
- Uninstalling the Decorate the Tree app from your iOS device immediately erases all locally saved game files and progress.
- Because we do not operate remote user account databases for this app, there are no remote server accounts to delete.
